Privacy Policy

Last updated July 20, 2026

The short version

Landmarkd helps you find and share NYC photo spots. We collect the account details you give us, the content you create, and — only while you're using the app — your location. We don't sell your data and we don't run ads. Questions: support@landmarkd.co.

What we collect

Account: your email address, username, and profile photo.

Content you create: spots you add (including their map coordinates), reviews and their photos, comments, likes, saved folders, and items you add to your Closet.

Location: your device location while the app is open, used to centre the map and to place a pin accurately. We do not track your location in the background.

Photos: images you choose from your library or capture with the camera, for reviews, spots, Closet items, comments, messages, and your avatar.

Messages: direct messages you send to other users.

Activity: a "last active" timestamp so friends can see when you were recently online.

What's public, and what isn't

Public — visible to anyone using the app: your username and profile photo, the spots you add, your reviews and their photos, your comments, and your likes.

Your choice — set under Settings › Privacy: who can see your followers and following lists (Public, Friends only, or Private). The follower and following counts remain visible.

Private — only you can see these: your Closet, your saved folders, your chats with Hubert, and your direct messages (visible only to you and the person you're messaging).

AI features

Hubert, outfit suggestions, automatic photo tagging, and comment moderation are powered by Anthropic's Claude API.

When you use these features, the relevant text and images are sent to Anthropic to generate a response. This happens through our own server, so your data is never sent from your device directly to a third party. See Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/legal/privacy for how they handle API data.

Services we rely on

Supabase — hosts our database, accounts, and photo storage.
Anthropic — powers the AI features described above.
Mapbox — address search and walking directions.
Google Maps — map display on Android devices.
Open-Meteo — weather, used to tailor outfit suggestions. No personal data is sent.

We do not use advertising or analytics trackers.

Keeping it secure

Data is encrypted in transit. Access is enforced at the database level with per-user security rules, so private content such as your Closet and messages cannot be read by other users even if someone attempts to query our API directly.

No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Your data and your choices

You can edit your username, email, avatar, and privacy settings at any time under Settings. You can delete individual spots, reviews, comments, and Closet items.

To request a copy of your data or deletion of your account and its contents, email support@landmarkd.co and we'll action it.

Note that content you've shared publicly (such as a review on a spot) may remain visible to others until it's removed.

Age requirement

Landmarkd is not intended for anyone under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact support@landmarkd.co and we'll delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app changes. The "last updated" date above will always reflect the current version, and significant changes will be announced in the app.
